Hello Tradia,
What a great call! Your participation is wonderful and much appreciated.
We got through quite a bit today and many ideas and tips came out that I know will be useful for you.
The objective of these calls is to communicate. Whatever topic you feel is going to benefit you the most is the best topic to communicate on, so there is no right or wrong on these calls. Today you came together as a team and that is what matters most!
I am very open to hearing feedback from you on how to make these calls even more effective. This is YOUR time so please let me know how best to serve you and your needs.

Below I have laid out the action steps that came out of the call today. Most of them do not have a “by when” date so I would like to recommend they be completed by Wednesday the 22nd.
Thank you for those who stepped up to the plate to take action, share ideas and make improvements. You are true leaders and the group appreciates your contributions.

I look forward to meeting you again next month on our December call.
Meanwhile keep doing what you are doing….it’s OUTSTANDING!

Action steps:

Corporate
1-An update on the availability of the Training CD’s
2-Clarification on how to view the Classifieds all at once “the old fashioned way” (by Friday the 10th)
3-More information on how to use OWA
4-Trouble-shooting the new email system (ie, how to determine if the issue is related to Tradia or personal computer, how to manage emails, etc)
5-A structured process for how to post classifieds and the specific criteria each one must meet
6-Clarify the availability of Allan and how best Brokers can communicate with him and utilize his services for Tradia related issues.

1-Investigate the possibility of having a specific category/tab for Technology issues on the BLOG

Here is the email Alan sent me about Auction "sandbox" & also some other things of interest. I've included my question so you can see what I wanted to know, so you will want to read that first-scroll down to where it says "end of email" then read up...

Alicia,
When I compete the automation for the replication between Active Directory (the global address list) and the database, it will automatically update all your contact information in the AD. You will find this information in your Outlook Global Address list… - what this means is that all the phone numbers and addresses that you have on your broker member record in the database will be copied into the Outlook Global Address List…

There is not much to listing an auction or classified. If you want to play around and see what it would look like, you can access the development system (an exact copy of the live website with 1 month old data). You can add, delete, whatever you want, without affecting LIVE Production data…

The link is http://mssql.tradia.net The data on this server is subject to be lost because I update it with a copy from the live data from time to time… This is called a ‘Sandbox” because you can play in all you want… The only thing you want to be careful of is things that generate e-mail (e-mail all members, e-mail brokers, closing an auction) all send real e-mail, so when testing auctions, make sure the members you have chosen to play with have your e-mail address on them…

Would it be much of a problem for you to put a Data List in which lists the BROKER Info including mailing addresses for each of us?

Would you be able to have a short presentation/Q & A session with us on correct procedure for listing an Auction or Classified, too-could this be done on one of our weekly conference calls? Or do you have anything in print you can send to me on steps involved to make sure all is done correctly?

"End of Email" ...

I'm excited about the chance of having a "techie tab" here and the possibility of having our questions answered & moving forward. I know I am not the only one with them. Alan has always been very helpful whenever I have a question & we all realize how extremely busy he is with what Corporate is doing with the new site-I'm very excited. Maybe this would be helpful for him, to answer us jointly instead of having to respond individually to what might be the same "challange". Then I(we) can stop driving him crazy with all our questions/challenges, etc.

Happy Tuesday to everyone...
Remember to attend the Conference Call tomorrow if at all possible. Jennifer Powers will be spending the time with us. I think we all agree her time with us at Otter Crest was invaluable & she will be doing a follow-up, so read your notes & see you there.
Also, I will be posting notes here re: the items we chose as most important concerns to the Brokers from our meeting @ conference. All future Broker Board Communications will also be posted here unless they are of a confidential nature & then we will discuss on the monthly broker call.
Watch for these in the next day or two. I wanted to have posted already but I have had a hectic week here and am fighting the "big gamboo flu"! I'm excited to announce that I have a husband/wife team (and current members) who have applied for an LTD position and are just awaiting approval from Corporate. We've already signed up a new member thru them! They are a dynamic team!

Reciprocal Accounts

Good Morning everyone, I am not sure just how many of the brokers are looking at this. But I have a question about the reciprocal brokers that you might be doing business with. I was told that I would have access to about 95 different brokers from around the country. If this is so how do we go about contacting them to get our accounts set up with them. Brokers and searching for clients

This is just a thought I have and if someone could help me out with this it would be greatly appreciated......... :)

Ok guys I know that I am the new kid but I have just a few questions about locating clients of other brokers....... 1) I have not been able to find a list of the brokers that we have on the sight with such information of contact information. Do we go through the office in order to find out how to contact the brokers and who is a broker? Or am I just not finding the right location of the information in the web sight. 2) I can bring up the whole directory but know information of the broker and who may have them if I wanted to call broker and ask them about a client. 3) I also have just completed my first auction and classified, when it ended I did get a email, and not through my tradia account I might add. But I got a name of the company and account number, but how do I find them in the directory? There is not a search location to input just there account number, or is there and I have not figured it out just. I must say it would be nice to have a list of all brokers readly available on the sight and a search section so I do not have to go through the whole directory! Happy trading all...... and thank you for any help in the matter.Christine in Spokane

Dentists

My favorite pitch to dentists right now is advertising...for a number of reasons. One, in Utah there are more dentists per capita than any other state in America. Two, dentists want more money, and what better way to get more money than to advertise their office. Three, they have a really big margin so it makes sense to throw tons of trade dollars at advertising when it only costs them 20 or 30 cents on the dollar.
